Miss Universe 2016 Early Highlights
EARLY HIGHLIGHTS FOR MISS UNIVERSE 2016 PAGEANT
So we all guys know and have it confirmed that the next edition of the Miss Universe pageant is gonna be in the Philippines, particularly in Manila, as confirmed by the country’s Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo. As reported, January 30, 2017 is the day of glory. This will be the third hosting of this beautiful Asian country (last was in 1994). So to keep the thrill, why don’t we start with a few tidbits for you girls and gals to enjoy?
Iran will debut in the Miss Universe stage! This has to be one of the biggest news in the pageant history! Never it has happened that Iran participated in any of the international pageants. According to our most reliable source, a woman from the city of Tehran will represent the country.
120 candidates are expected to grace the big pageant event in the Philippines. If it is indeed the number, it’s going to be one of the most-attended Miss Universe pageant so far in history.
The venue and host?
SM MOA Arena is the venue of the coronation night with Steve Harvey as the host. SM MOA Arena is one of the biggest indoor arena in Asia so we think it’s a perfect spot for the grandeur or beauty. The host, Steve Harvey, said that he wanted to personally apologize to Filipinos after the major gaffe that happened last year. Well, generally, Harvey has a multi-year contract with the MUO…so there! He’s gonna be with us for the next couple of years or decades, perhaps.
The candidates of the Miss Universe 2016 pageant will be touring around the beautiful islands of the Philippines. Ugh! We’re excited! Beach bum for sure it is! As we heard, provinces/cities are Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Cagayan de Oro and Davao. Philippine Tourism Undersecretary said that other auxiliary events will be held in Cagayan de Oro City – the hometown of Queen Pia. “It will be a big boost to our tourism industry”, De Castro stressed.
Philippine president Duterte actually said no in hosting the pageant as the fee skyrockets to $11 million, but since private sectors pledged to shoulder everything, contract has been signed!
Aren’t you guys excited? Ugh! We’re sooooo thrilled!
