During the telecast, fans of a certain SEA country walked out after their country didn’t make it into the top 15.
The same rude crowd that was present in the preliminary competition were also in the finals. The floor director politely asked them to turn their cheering down and refrain from using any instruments just to make noise. But the rude crowd kept on using them prior to the telecast. They only stopped when their country failed to make the top 15.
At the venue, there were murmurs on why a certain country made it into the top 15 when she only looked great in glamshots.
Others commented on her skin when seen up-close and personal. The country used to be a powerhouse in Miss Universe.
The security at the venue was very strict. They would not allow people in and out of the venue and no sitting/standing at the pathways. You can only take bathroom breaks during the commercials.
No large bags were allowed at the FIU Arena during the finals. Some were able to sneak in their large cameras especially the official media invited for the coverage.
There were 2 split groups who congratulated the winners; half of the girls flocked to Miss Jamaica and the other half went to Miss Colombia.
Migbelis Castellanos of Venezuela was seen congratulating Miss Jamaica onstage.
After the announcement of winners, people at the venue were ushered out (albeit a bit rudely) as there were no taking of photographs on the stage.
Miss Russia was indeed escorted by the security out from the stage. But she wasn’t allowed to go out from the venue. She was seen talking to her MUO Manager after pulling a stunt on stage during Miss Jamaica’s announcement.
Miss Costa Rica was seen being comforted by her family after the show because she was crying. She said she really doesn’t know what the organization is looking for. She’s upset of her exclusion in the top 15.
Miss Puerto Rico passed out due to dehydration. Many girls poked fun at her saying that she passed out because she didn’t place.
The after party was in Trump National Doral and no media were allowed inside the venue. Candidates were allowed to bring in at least two chaperones. The judges and hosts were there at the after-party.
Jamaica went to the victory party in a red ballgown and was delayed entering the venue by fans who wanted to have photographs with her.
